DECEMBER NEWSLETTER 2016
Welcome to the final Edition of Pink Therapy News for 2016:

In last month's editorial I mentioned there are some significant changes afoot both for Pink Therapy and me personally. It's timely share some of these with you now as the year end approaches.

As you're probably aware I have built Pink Therapy into a well respected, internationally recognised organisation over the last 17 years but I've done this largely single handed and it's unrealistic for me to continue working at such an intense pace in all the areas we're moved into.

I am planning to create Pink Therapy into a franchise and hoping to sell some parts of the business and hand over the running of some core aspects of Pink Therapy, in particular the marketing and delivery of our face-to-face trainings, to a small group of people (largely drawn from the Clinical Associate team) who will become Pink Therapy (London).  I hope they will revistalise and bring exciting new developments to the organisation.

I will remain CEO and continue to develop the Online Diploma, and promote many new stand alone CPD units for people unable to come to London and attend our Face-to-Face events but who are hungry for training.

I will also continue to co-ordinate our Annual conference and manage the Directory & Website (we're having a new one built).

Over the next couple of years, I hope to develop the 'brand' of Pink Therapy in other parts of the world and so if you're interested in forming a connection to us, let me know.

Finally, on a personal note I'm about to move out of London to the South Coast (from the begining of January). I'll maintain a small private practice for 2 days a week in London.

There are exciting times ahead and I've been very pre-occupied with the future of Pink Therapy and grateful for the support I've been receiving from colleagues at home and abroad.

With best wishes to you for the holiday season however you may celebrate it and here's to an exciting New Year!
Dominic Davies - CEO

New Publication: Critical & Experiential: Dimensions in Gender and Sexual Diversity

Critical & Experiential: Dimensions in Gender and Sexual Diversity is a multidisciplinary collection of chapters written from within the newly emerging field in gender and sexual diversity (GSD) that moves beyond the LGBTQ(IA) acronym to include non-binary and heterosexual variation.

The contributions are primarily aimed at mental health, psychology and psychotherapy practitioners and teachers, as well as those working with psychological aspects of social sciences and legal theory. The concepts of 'critical' and 'critique' are reframed throughout as experientially provoked thinking and thought. This collection provides a practical reference handbook to critique our range and styles of learning, teaching and interventions in the GSD field. However, it is also a stimulus to broader questions about mental health in the psychological organization of social and professional values that, painfully, still demand to be voiced, if not critiqued.

This an exciting collection of original, cutting-edge thinking from those living and working within the newly emerging field of gender and sexual diversity (GSD). The real diversity of human nature, human experience and human histories provoke, demand and generate critical thinking. The lived experiences shared in this book stand as a testament to this diversity. Voices which need to be heard!

Make Your Own Relationship User Guide

Make Your Own Relationship User Guide is a newly published zine guide from Meg-John Barker and Justin Hancock.

Many of us have grown up thinking that love is something that we have no control over: that if we have to work on our relationships then it's not natural and it's not real love.  We think love is a combination of something you make happen as well as it happening to you.
What if we could try a more consensual and intentional way of doing relationships? That's what this zine is about.

"It's an excellent resource packed with exercises for therapists and their clients to explore the kind of relationships they want." (Dominic Davies - CEO)

The zine is available to purchase here for only £2.50!

“In the Steps of the Ballet Russes” once again celebrates the glittering legacy of the legendary Ballet Russes. Much-loved favourites from the heady days of Diaghilev will be complemented by less familiar works and some spectacular contemporary repertoire – while exciting new pieces including a world premiere inspired by the Ballet Russes will look to the future of this great tradition.

The cast for the Gala will be studded with well-known and up-and-coming stars, and leading dancers from the world’s finest ballet companies including the Bolshoi, Mariinsky, Grand Opera Paris, Berlin Staatsoper and Monte Carlo ballets, the Royal Ballet, English National Ballet and New York City Ballet.

London’s annual ‘Russian Ballet Icons’ Gala, first held in 2006, is now firmly established as a highlight of the international ballet calendar. Every year a dazzling programme pays tribute to the wonderful traditions of the Russian ballet school and its legendary soloists who have been inspiring dancers and ballet lovers since the early nineteenth century.
