Dan de la Motte, one of our members, organises walking tours of Soho starting at the cottage (not an euphemism) in the middle of Soho Square and ends in Endell Street not far from a well known Club where we shall end with a well earned cocktail or glass of wine, this has been made possible by another member.

Here's some more information:

We cannot empower our queer present without understanding our queer past. On this 1 hour walking tour of Soho, come and discover some of the now-lost queer nighttime spaces, the incredible queer pioneers that ran these spaces, and the clientele that filled them. Learn about the oppressive police actions, such as undercover surveillance and raids, as well as the inspirational stories of the fight for queer liberation.

The cost is £25pp to include the tour & the drink. You must be a member of GPN to attend (it is only £20 a year and gives you many advantages). Please note that this tour is limited in numbers and is FREE to our members who have either paid £200 a year or £20 pcm, please let me know if you can attend by emailing me at jf@gpn.one. My Brother Is A Mermaid - Transgender Representation in Film

Shaun Rhodes <shaun.rhodes@aeentertainment.co.uk> wrote:
Morning GPN,

My name's Shaun, I'm producing a short film about a trans teenager, starring a trans actor, and believe the project may be of interest to your organisation and supporters. The story is a magical realism, focussing on the unconditional love between siblings as the elder one begins their social transition. You can find out all about the film on our website - mermaidshortfilm.com.

The aim of the film is to educate, challenge prejudice, and expand understanding and empathy. We've taken great care to consult with the UK transgender community in the writing and creation of the film, we're firm believers in the matra 'nothing about us, without us'.

We have a fantastically insightful, articulate and personal interview with our lead actor about trans representation in film, and would love for you to share it. Cameron (our actor) is a fantastic role model for young people (both trans and cis) and is at the beginning of what will inevitably be a hugely successful career. He Has fantastic insights into transphobia in 2018, the importance of casting trans actors in trans roles, and generally on trans representation on screen.
So far we've had Mermaids UK and Arcadia Doncaster LGBT share the video as well as several other transgender organisations. Please see the interview here, and if you feel it's something your supporters could get behind, then sharing on social media would be fantastic.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_egDxMf8AUE

If you could also include a link to our crowdfunding campaign then even better!

Thank you so much for your time and I really hope to hear from you soon. Keep up the great work you do.
Best Wishes,

Shaun
