Thank you for coming out for Trans Equality

View this email in your browser. Hi Jean-Francois, We’re writing to say thank you for all your brilliant support.   The Gender Recognition Act consultation closed today. Thousands and thousands of people responded through our webform, a testament to what we can do when we all come out for trans equality.   Despite the messages of fear and prejudice, together we have shown why it’s so important to support trans people to get the rights that they deserve. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please pass on our thanks to your friends, families, and networks – everyone who supported this campaign. Their support has been crucial – and means so much to trans people across Britain.   But this is just the first step.   Over the coming months, we need to keep working together to continue building support for trans equality across all parts of our society. And next year we’ll need to come together again to make sure that the consultation leads to changes in the law that give legal recognition to all trans people. But we are in a strong position now – because we’ve shown that by working together, we can make an enormous impact.   The conversations and questions will continue, even now the consultation is closed.   Please use the Truth about Trans resource and the personal stories that trans people have generously shared in writing and on video to tackle misconceptions and encourage others to #ComeOutForTransEquality.  Thank you.
