National Coming Out Day
It's National Coming Out Day on 11th October!
National Coming Out Day was created on 11 October 1988 by US LGBTQ+ activists Jean O'Leary and Rob Eichberg.
11 October 1988 marked the first anniversary of The Second National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, where over half a million LGBTQ people and allies marched on Washington, appealing for more funds to fight AIDS and demanding an end to discrimination based on sexual orientation.
